Extract from the Sven Goran Eriksson interview…

FOX: Which performances this season have pleased you the most?
SGE: Barnsley away and Leeds away we played very well. I was perhaps most pleased last Tuesday. It was an awful football game. Just fighting, fighting. But we did it and we took three points. I’m sure a couple of months ago we would have lost that game. But now we can do it. There is no doubt we can play football, but on a night like that when the pitch made it impossible to do that we still stood up and won. That makes our belief even bigger. We tried to pass the ball and it was bumping all over the place.
FOX: Is that why you asked for the pitch at the Walkers to be relaid?
SGE: Absolutely. After the Manchester City game the pitch was very bad. And the groundsman said to me: “Sven, it’s going to be like that until May.”
So I went to the owners and said ‘We need to be able to play football, can we get a new pitch?’
‘If you think so then do it they said.’ Thankyou. And the day after they started on it.
It shows what the owners are here for.
FOX: Which games have disappointed you the most?
SGE: We played four away games… Bristol City, Watford, Millwall… and err Ipswich. How can we forget Ipswich? Those three games I was happy enough because we played decent football, but we made huge mistakes so we didn’t even get a draw. You are angry, disappointed, frustrated and worried. It is very easy that you can, as a team, lose confidence. It can go like that [clicks fingers]. Building confidence and a good atmosphere takes time, to lose it can take a second.
FOX: How do you deal with that the next time you are training?
SGE: Well it depends. Talking to everyone first of all. But then into the Media Room with, say, the back line. We’ll look at the game. See your positions here, while the ball is here? Are you happy with that? No? Sometimes one or two players in, sometimes the whole team. It depends on the situation because you have to criticise players sometimes but you have to be careful not to kill them, because you need them.
If you are too pessimistic they can get too low and they won’t be better next time.

Just wanted to say thanks for finding the video I uploaded of the FA Cup draw and featuring it in the Fox latest issue.

I didn’t expect it to be so popular, and if i’d known it was going to be featured in my favourite Fanzine, than I’d have uploaded it much quicker than I did (considering I uploaded it about 20 minutes after I don’t think I could have done it much quicker.)

Though my choice of username, I have to say, is questionable, but I defend myself by saying I chose it in 2007.

I’ve several other Leicester videos on my account, including the Leicester City Walkers Stadium virtual tour guide VHS.
