Burnley 0:2 Leicester City
City moved a big stride closer to promotion on at Turf Moor on Saturday, with a convincing 2-0 over second placed Burnley.
An unchanged City side enjoyed a bright start to the game, and injury-hit Burnley suffered a set-back as early as the 8th minute when Vokes had to limp out of the action.
Schmeichel then had to be alert to come out and meet Stanislas after he was sent in on goal.
Drinkwater then saw a well-struck volley blocked by Shackell.
Vardy then broke dangerously but eventually the attentions of three defenders and a perhaps a tug on the sleeve denied him the opener.
In the 34th minute Vardy then had to go off with an injury, but his replacement Wood was son setting up Nugent for the opener.
Nugent strode forward before cutting in and delivering a perfect swerving shot beyond the reach of Heaton and into the bottom left hand corner.
It was a vital goal in a tight encounter and City went in with the lead at half-time after Kightly put one over the bar for the Clarets.
Knockaert, set up by Mahrez, sent a 25 yarder against bar, while Schmeichel did well to block an Arfield effort at the other end.
City were looking very good at this stage, with Wood, Knockaert and Schlupp all going close, before Taylor-Fletcher replaced Nugent up front.
Although Burnley desperately tried to press forward and preserve their unbeaten home record it was City who got the vital second goal with 12 minutes to go. Wood latched on to a hopeful punt forward from Knockaert and outmuscled Duff before sending a delightful half-volley soaring over Heaton and into the net in front of over 3,000 travelling fans.
The party started, and everything about this City side says, not just promotion, but Champions.
