Leicester City 0:0 Leeds United
Leicester and Leeds played out a 0:0 draw with few highlights at the KPS on Sunday evening…
Nigel Pearson made four changes to his side with Whitbread, Konchesky, Drinkwater and Vardy replacing of St Ledger, Wood, Danns and Dyer.
In a lively opening City’s best chance fell to Vardy who was sent through by Nugent, but Pearce blatantly obstructed him, pucking up a yellow card. Nugent then sent his header over from James’ free-kick.
Virtually nothing of note happened for the rest of the half with the only entertainment provided by Leeds’ large and lively travelling support.
Very little happened after the break either.
Dyer and Knockaert came on for De Laet and James… but still City only came up with a half chance when Drinkwater sent a shot on the turn well over.
Vardy then sent an effort over the bar, before being replaced by Wood. The New Zealander came very close to earning City all three points when a strong run took him past two defenders before he launched a shot against the right hand upright with Kenny beaten.
The visitors also had a late chance to wrap it up but Schmeichel reacted well to save a Smith header.
It was a 90 minutes of perspiration but no inspiration… hopefully enough to dissuade Sky from moving any more of our games for a while.
