Leicester Break Record to Land Vardy

Leicester City have broken the Non-League transfer record to bring prolific goalscorer Jamie Vardy to the King Power Stadium…

A million pound fee has been agreed for the 25 year old, which could raise to £1.7M if he continues his meteoric rise.

Sheffield-born Vardy has an incredible record in non-League football scoring 66 goals in 107 appearances for Stockbridge Park Steels; 29 in 41 for FC Halifax Town; and 31 in 36 for Fleetwood Town, playing a big part in their runaway Conference title win.

£1M for a non-League player could be considered something of a gamble, but the lad certainly seems to know where the goals are, and they are the same size in the Championship.
