City Talk to Prime Target

City are close to capturing the signature of the player who was top of their wanted list and may break the club record transfer fee…

Reading skipper Matt Mills is close to being a City player in a deal thought to be worth £4.5M. With add-on clauses this could rise to more than the £5M City paid Wolves for Ade Akinbiyi over a decade ago. Let’s hope he provides better value for money.
The 24 year old central-defender was number one priority for City and his signing would prove, were there any doubt, that the new owners are prepared to spend big in order to get the club back into the Premier League.

Mills is currently in talks at Filbert Way after City and Reading agreed on a deal earlier today.
