As usual Nigel Pearson isn’t giving too much away: “We are currently discussing one or two options in regard to him and we will see where that takes us. We are always working at additions to the squad so we will see what happens.”
But it appears that Yann Kermorgant is on the verge of signing a deal with City.
With DJ Campbell on his way out of the club and Steve Howard and Martyn Waghorn both suffering hamstring injuries at Bramall lane on Tuesday night City are desperately short of striking options.
27 year old Kermorgant has been training with City and scored in the reserves 4-1 over Sheffield United in the week. Reserve team manager Gerry Taggart was impressed: “I think he showed with his quality finish and his all-round play that he is a class act. He has a great range of passing and is strong in the air as well. He is a good player.”
Brittany-born Kermorgant is currently a free-agent having most recently played for Stade Reims, and is recovering from an injury which would make it unlikely that he would be fully match fit for a few weeks.
